About this Event

Welcome to the SURGE Discover Coding Python-Gapminder workshop! This workshop is aimed at people from science disciplines who have no previous experience with a programming language. We teach the basics of coding using Python, a very popular language used in science and data science. If you have programmed before, but are new to Python, you will also find this workshop useful, if perhaps a bit slow at times.

We are excited to offer an online version of our Discover Coding series. It will run from 2:30 - 4:30 PM Atlantic Standard Time, on Thursdays from May 13 - June 17.

This workshop is in high demand, so in registering we ask that you commit to attending all six sessions. Please let us know if you are unable to commit so we may open your spot to someone on the wait list. We will be offering our Discover Coding series again, so there will be more chances to learn! If you took the Discover Coding series in the winter, you are able to skip the first four dates of this session and join only for the last two. You are also welcome to take them all again!
