Applications are currently closed.

Being part of the SURGE team provides opportunities for students to gain experiential training in leadership and scientific communication. Members of the SURGE team make a term-by-term commitment to performing assigned tasks related to the organization, promotion, and documentation of SURGE events and activities.

Benefits of Working with SURGE

The expected commitment is 3-10 hours per week over each academic term at a rate of $15/hour. This includes a weekly team meeting. Team members who meet or exceed specified performance targets throughout the term will receive a letter of recommendation describing their performance – including professionalism, communication, creative, and leadership skills upon request. These positions provide a unique opportunity to build skills in a dynamic, professional, high-expectation environment.

Applicants must be active, registered Dalhousie University students in good academic standing, or employed as postdoctoral fellows at Dalhousie University. Applicants must be able to attend the weekly meetings at a time that will be determined upon hiring. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in one or more of the roles.
